By now we all know that Kajol who was last seen in the Bollywood film, Dilwale alongside Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in the Tamil film Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (VIP 2). In fact images of the actress shooting for VIP 2 that had managed to find their way to the internet has been creating waves.
Well more recently, while talking about her film VIP 2, which is incidentally her second Tamil venture, the actress stated that director Soundarya Rajinikanth and her co-star in the film Dhanush had lied to her when getting her to sign the film. Apparently, both Soundarya and Dhanush had assured her that if she signed on for the film she would not have any dialogues in Tamil. However, on the first day of the shoot she was presently shocked when they handed her a long script with two scenes and huge dialogues in Tamil, and requested her to at least try.
However, Kajol was quick to add that she didn’t hold this lie against Soundarya and Dhanush and instead thanked them for helping her debunk a myth that she had of her being unable to speak in another language.
As for the film VIP 2 which is said to be a sequel to Dhanush's 2014 film Velaiilla Pattadhari, also stars Amala Paul.
Angad Bedi, who was last seen in Pink, is now all set to make a documentary on his father Bishan Singh Bedi. The actor will be focussing on his father’s life before and after becoming an outstanding cricketer of the Indian cricket team. With the latest trend of biopics made on sportspersons in Bollywood, Angad is planning to make a documentary on his father who was one of the major cricketers of India back in 60s and 70s, an era of cricket not many people are aware of.
Angad Bedi, who himself started his career by playing cricket for the Delhi for the Under 16 and 19 teams, wants the people to relive his father's cricket journey and his personal life journey as well. He personally loves watching documentaries, which he feels showcase the realities of life as opposed to movies, which can move toward being unrealistic.
Bishan Singh Bedi was the straight-talking former captain of India and an inspiration for the cricketers of the present generation. Thus, Angad feels that his life journey may inspire many more upcoming cricketers. When asked Angad he said, "I feel a documentary will do justice as there is a lot in his life personal as well as professionally which needs to be seen and told.. his rapport with the players.. him being this larger than life personality... brutally honest in calling a spade. How he stood up for the players even against the administration sometimes.. his relevance in the modern day cricket as well. Known as a straight shooter... loved fondly by his friends popularly known as "BISH" his friendships.. his fallouts... His relationship at home... him n me how we were and now how we are... His love for the game is greater than anything else..."
Meanwhile, Angad Bedi will be next seen in Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is scheduled to release on December 12, 2017.

Over the past few years, a new generation of female Indian filmmakers has begun to shine on the global stage. To see women behind the camera and creating powerful pieces of art is reflective of the positive steps that the film industry in India and the subcontinent are taking."
It is true that many current Gen Y stars who belong to filmy families continue to carry forward their legacy and have made a name for themselves in the world of Bollywood. But during their student life, most of them led a normal life with many of them even taking up odd jobs abroad whilst studying. One amongst them is Shraddha Kapoor.
Readers may be aware that Shraddha Kapoor, who is born to veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, used to study in Boston. But not many may know that the actress had taken up a part-time job at a coffee shop while studying. The actress worked for a popular coffee chain in Boston and decided to take this up along with her colleague just for experience.
A source close to the actress said, “She decided to do this job part time to feel a little independent and who minds some extra pocket money in college days.” However, we must say that this trivia about the actress definitely took us by a surprise.
On the film front, after her last release Half Girlfriend, Shraddha Kapoor will next be seen in Haseena Parkar, which is one of her most unconventional roles by far. Besides that, she will also star in the first sports biopic of her career, the one on Saina Nehwal to be directed by Amole Gupte.
Shah Rukh Khan brought in some trend breaking technology in B-town with his company Red Chillies Entertainment. While most of the films use this as a premise of their film, Shah Rukh decided to put in something extra for his next which is an Aanand L. Rai film.
For over a year now, there have been talks about Shah Rukh Khan playing a dwarf in Aanand L. Rai’s next. Besides the intriguing factor of seeing the actor in such a unique avatar, he is collaborating with this filmmaker for the first time. And now add to that, the film is going to be dominated by VFX or so says Shah Rukh Khan.
The actor recently revealed that he has started up a VFX studio in Goregaon (suburban Mumbai) specifically for his next with Aanand L. Rai. The yet to be titled film, according to Shah Rukh Khan, will be technologically one of the most superior ever made in India. Revealing the details of the shoot schedule by far, the superstar stated that they have shot for around 10-15 days for the film and it is already on the edit table. He is currently waiting to see the results of this new technology.
Talking about how time-consuming the entire process is, SRK added that for a 30 second frame they had to work for almost a month and that they are planning to wrap up the film in 15 months.
As for the film, after much speculation it was finally announced that the Aanand L. Rai directorial would be a two-heroine project, and that the makers had roped in Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma for the said roles.
She played a victim in Pink who is dragged to court as she defends herself against the stereotypes and prejudices of the society. And now Taapsee Pannu will be yet again seen in the court defending and arguing but this time as a lawyer.
After her action packed role in Naam Shabana, Taapsee will once again be back in a powerful role as a lawyer in the Abhinay Deo directorial. Although we aren’t of all the details of the character, we hear that the actress has not only given a nod but will start prepping for the film soon. In fact, we hear that the actress will start training for the same at least a month before it goes on floor. As far as the other casting details are concerned, the makers are currently in search of the male lead for the film.
On the other hand, Taapsee Pannu is currently busy with the comic caper Judwaa 2, a remake of the Salman Khan starrer by the same name. With Varun Dhawan playing a double role in the film, it also stars Jacqueline Fernandez as the other leading lady. However, we hear that the actress has taken off for a trip to Norway before she kickstarts the Portugal schedule for the film.
Meanwhile, director of her forthcoming film Abhinay Deo recently wrapped up the shoot of Raita which stars Irrfan Khan and Kriti Kulhari in the lead.
Reportedly, Taapsee Pannu starrer, Abhinay’s untitled film will commence shooting from October this year.
Is Ajay Devgn all set to play the coolest godman in India? If reliable sources are to be believed, Ajay Devgn who was last seen in the underwhelming self-directed home production Shivaay may soon don the saffron for the role of Baba Ramdev.
The Baba, known to be colourful quirky and quite a scene-stealer in public spaces, definitely has a huge success story to prop up his image. Devgn is keen to explore the image. The earlier plan was to produce a television serial on Baba Ramdev with the talented Death In The Gunj actor Vikrant Massey in the lead. But after Vikrant developed a nose-in-the-air attitude about television, Devgn who was to produce the serial, has taken the story back to the board.
In all likelihood he will now produce a big-screen bio-pic on Baba Ramdev and will cast himself as the scene stealing Baba.
Says a source, “Talks of doing big-sceen bio-pic on Baba Ramdev gained credence only after Ajay Devgn decided to step in the role. With his purported epic on the Battle of Sargarhi showing no sign of progress it is full-throttle ahead with the Baba Ramdev bio-pic for Devgn.”
With the grand celebrations of Eid, Shah Rukh Khan is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming romantic film, Jab Harry Met Sejal. The film brings back SRK and Anushka Sharma in quirky roles.
The film's full-fledged trailer has not been released yet but is being released in mini-trailers. In one of the mini trailers, Anushka Sharma hands over an indemnity bond to SRK mentioning that there won't be any legal problems if they end up having intercourse. Well, this did not sit well with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Pahlaj Nihalani. He also demanded that if he gets one lakh votes from the common people in its support, he will clear the usage of “intercourse”.
On Monday, during Eid celebrations, Shah Rukh Khan spoke to media about the same stating, “I think I am below 18, so I cannot vote (laughed). It's just the beginning of the trailers, the entire film is left. On a serious note, neither I, nor anyone in the film – Imtiaz, Irshad (lyricist Irshad Kamil) sahab, Pritam, Anushka, Red Chillies, writers or anyone would use any disrespectful word, that hurts a family or anyone’s sentiment. We are yet to send the film to the censors and they should watch the whole film to decide. Maybe, out of context, he (Pahlaj Nihalani) did not like the words and if he didn't like it then we will change it. When they will watch the film and understand the full context, hopefully, they will understand.”
Directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment banner, Evelyn Sharma and Sayani Gupta also feature in the film. Jab Harry Met Sejal is releasing on August 4.
Recently, the ace badminton player Kidambi Srikanth created history by becoming the first Indian ever to win Australia Super series. No sooner Kidambi Srikanth created history; congratulatory messages started pouring in from all the corners, which included our beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi, evergreen cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and others. Bollywood was no different.
In order to laud Srikanth Kidambi’s thumping victory; many Bollywood celebs took to the social media and wished the ace shuttler. Prominent amongst them was the Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. On the other hand, Randeep Hooda posted stating, “Slowly bt steadily we r becoming world class in sports #OtherThanCricket congratulations @srikidambi on winning #AustralianSS #Badminton”. The ‘Pink’ lady Taapsee Pannu, on her part, posted “Anddddd he wins again!!!!! What an amazing 2 weeks @srikidambi Happy I could watch this one ???? #AustraliaSuperSeries2017.”
Just last week, we had reported on how media photographers literally hounded Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana when she had dropped by a suburban multiplex to catch a screening of the latest Salman Khan film Tubelight. Though Suhana, who obviously seems flustered with the unending camera flashes handled the paparazzi with panache, her father Shah Rukh Khan decided to respond to the media with a request.
Talking to media persons Shah Rukh Khan addressed the issue of media photographers and camera persons hounding celebrity kids for that exclusive shot in a rather jovial manner. Obviously irked by what his daughter went through, Shah Rukh Khan decided to play it cool and put his request in a different way saying, “One little request, yaar, jo photographers hai na apne, yaar woh bacchon ke tasveer zaara pyaar se lo yaar. Ek do photo le kar chod diya karo yaar.”
Back on the film front, Shah Rukh Khan who was last seen in Raees that hit screen earlier this year, features in a cameo in the recently released film Tubelight. Following this Shah Rukh will next be seen alongside Anushka Sharma in Imtiaz Ali’s film Jab Harry Met Sejal followed by Anand L. Rai’s dwarf film.
Only recently, we had reported about the thespian Dilip Kumar’s latest post on the social media in which he was seen wearing a blue shirt and beige pair of pants. The 94 year old actor, who shared the photograph on the social media, captioned the same stating “Saira asked me to try this new shirt and pant. Comfortable.”
The latest update on the legendary actor Dilip Kumar is that, an extremely rare set of an original watercolour, mixed media and collage showcard artworks of his film Ram Aur Shyam sold for a whopping
Rs. 3.36 lakh at the famous Osian's 'The Greatest Indian Show On Earth 2 - Vintage Film Memorabilia, Publicity Materials & Arts Auction', which was held on June 22. Besides that, a very unique 12-sheet teaser of his hit film Kranti was sold for a staggering price of Rs. 3 lakh. The memorabilia of other films which fetched huge amounts included Andaz (Rs. 1.20 lakh), Mela (Rs. 48,000), Aan (Rs. 52,800), Sikandar (Rs. 78,000), Kal Aaj Aur Kal (Rs. 54,400) and Bobby (Rs. 74,400).
Speaking about the auction, Neville Tuli (Chairman- The Osian’s Group) said that the value of film memorabilia was there till the time technology replaced hand-painted posters and show cards with printed ones. He added that it was not far away when the finest scholars and researchers would flock to India to understand the profound role the cinematic and related arts have played in developing culture.
Only recently, we had reported about the hottie Nargis Fakhri making her singing debut with an Indo-Canadian single ‘Habitaan Vigaad Di’. Besides being featured as a ‘fantasy chick’ in the music video, Nargis Fakhri had also crooned the Punjabi chorus.
Despite having spent the majority of her life NYC, Nargis Fakhri learnt Hindi within a short span of time. After Hindi, the hottie is now busy learning Marathi. Speaking about the same, Nargis Fakhri said that since she was keen on learning Marathi, she posted the requirement for a Marathi tutor on her app.
Among all the applications received, Nargis Fakhri selected a guy named Aman Wankhede who was specially flown down to Mumbai in order to teach Nargis. On a lighter note, Nargis Fakhri joked that learning Marathi proved to be a great help when working on sets in Mumbai as it helped her to know as to who was talking about her behind her back!
On the films’ front, Nargis Fakhri is yet to make an official announcement of her next Bollywood venture.
Only last week, we had reported about the coming together of names like Arjun Rampal, Abhishek Bachchan, Pulkit Samrat, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Luv Sinha, Siddhanth Kapoor and Suniel Shetty in the veteran film maker J.P. Dutta’s ambitious project Paltan.
As per the latest reports, the roles of Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff in the film will not be full-fledged like others, and the two senior actors will be seen in cameos. Reports state that, despite the two actors doing cameos in the film, their roles will be extremely crucial in the film moving forward. The roles of Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff are said to be that of two senior level army officers, although there has been no confirmation about the same.
As far as the names of the leading ladies of Paltan is concerned, there have been no details on the same. Watch this space for developments.
The recent times have seen Bollywood films recreating yesteryear’s hit tracks and incorporating it in the films. Examples to this stand in the form of ‘Laila Main Laila’ (Raees), ‘Humma Humma’ (OK Jaanu), Saara Zamaana (Kaabil), Kaala Chashma (Baar Baar Dekho) and many others. This trend continues with the Ajay Devgn’s much awaited action thriller Baadshaho.
The film will feature the yesteryear hit track 'Keh Doon Tumhein' from the Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor cult film Deewar. The song is picturised on Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta. Sources close to the unit say that, the said track was shot recently during the Rajasthan schedule and is a delight to watch.
Besides Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta, Baadshaho also stars Vidyut Jammwal and Ileana D’Cruz in the lead roles. This Milan Luthria directed film is slated for release on September 1 this year.
Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama offered a new impetus to the rom-com. His characters were cocky sassy and simmering with a suburban discontent. Ranjan is now back with another unorthodox tale to tell. And it’s got a weird title. Hold your breath…Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety! If that sounds quirky the film’s announcement-video with all the three main actors Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh, bickering and bitching, is priceless.
Though the animated exchange seems all improvised, the director Luv Ranjan says it’s nothing of the sort. “The entire bickering among the three of them was scripted. This was my way of introducing my new film which is unlike anything I’ve made so far. And never mind of it features actors who have already been a part of my earlier films.”
In fact Kartik and Nushrat attained success with Pyaar Ka Punchnama and its sequel. They also came together for Luv Ranjan’s more serious-toned Akash Vani. The teaser announcing Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has jokes and digs about the couple creating boredom and stagnancy together.
Laughs Luv Ranjan, “Before anyone says the couple is becoming a regular in my films we’re saying it. But let me assure you Sonu Ka Titu Ki Sweety is not like any film I’ve done. For once, all the three protagonists have families….parents, aunts and uncles and cousins. Where has the joint-family disappeared in our films? This film will be my tribute to the Sooraj Barjatya school of filmmaking.”
The new Sridevi starrer Mom directed by debutant Ravi Udyawar has come in for high praise from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film has been granted a ‘UA’ with not a single visual or audio cut.
CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani describes Mom as a modern-day Mother India. “Srideviji’s performance in Mom has the same impact as Nargisji in Mother India. They both define motherhood and the ingrained sacrifices that a mother makes for a child. I’d go as far as to say Mom is the contemporary Mother India. There will be not one dry eye in the theatres when the film opens.”
The film which was viewed the CBFC’s board members on Friday had the female members in tears. “The film is gripping and grim in tone. Women audiences will be weeping after watching Sridevi’s motherly act. We saw no reason to cut anything. Not a moment that is out of place or vulgar. It is probably Sridevi’s career’s best performance,” says a CBFC source.
With the big Eid release Tubelight opening to mixed responses, Mom could be the big success of the monsoon season.
Ranbir Kapoor’s much delayed film Jagga Jasoos is all set to release next month but it seems that there was a last minute addition to the film. Sanjay Dutt, who is currently vacationing with his family, was roped in to be a part of the film as a narrator.
It is a known fact that Jagga Jasoos is a musical and because Ranbir Kapoor essays a character who has a stammering problem, he has conversations in songs. Most of his interactions including the ones he has with his love interest Katrina Kaif in the film are in the form of songs and hence the filmmaker believed that a narrative would be of great importance for the story. That’s the reason why Sanjay Dutt was approached for the film.
Furthermore, the actor’s name was suggested by none other than the leading man of the film Ranbir Kapoor. Reason, well everyone would be aware that the latter is playing the protagonist in the Sanjay Dutt biopic and the two seem to have bonded well. From what we hear, when Sanjay was approached with the idea, he found it intriguing and in the following few weeks even finished dubbing for the same.
As for the film itself, Jagga Jasoos is directed by Anurag Basu and is slated to release on July 14.
Filmmaker Karan Johar took everyone by surprise when he announced the arrival of his twins Roohi and Yash. The actor who kept insisting that he loves to play the role of a father in real life, revealed all about how this girl made him cry with her arrival.
During a recent chat show, Karan Johar unleashed his fatherly side on screen where he spoke about his experience of becoming a parent. Revealing about the fact that he found the need for having his own kids after his 40th birthday, Karan Johar stated that in order to be emotionally ready he even attended therapy sessions and psychology discussions about how it is to be a father and how to raise kids without a mother etc. He even mentioned about how he was asked about children being his backup plan since he did not have a love relationship.
On the other hand, talking about how holding his baby made him cry, Karan Johar spoke about how he couldn’t describe such a beautiful feeling. Adding that his daughter was more vulnerable medically, the filmmaker reminisced about the moment when he held her and how tears started rolling down his face. He further also asserted that those emotions are irreplaceable.
Karan Johar, who recently launched his auto-biography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, last directed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. As for his company Dharma Productions, it is riding high on the success of Baahubali 2 which broke the records all over the world.
It was definitely a shocker for the entire fraternity who mourned the loss of one of India’s most unconventional actors, Om Puri. While his career has spanned across India and abroad, the veteran star’s last film remained incomplete due to his untimely death.
Recently, Tubelight featured Om Puri in a prominent role and the audiences were more than happy to see him. However, his last film Mr. Kabaadi that he finished shooting was directed by his wife Seema Kapoor. The latter, who has now resumed the film, required Om to do voice over for her film as a narrator besides the prominent role he was playing in the film. However, owing to his demise, the voiceover remained incomplete.
In order to finish the voiceover, Seema Kapoor initially came up with the idea of hiring a mimic artiste to accomplish the same but she couldn’t find one. Stating that even the voice needs a certain performance, Seema decided to rewrite the part of the narrator and instead roped in Satish Kaushik as the new narrator for a fresh voiceover in third person.
Talking about the bond he shared with Om Puri and how he looked up to him, Satish Kaushik spoke about their struggling days and how he has seen him grow up the ladder. Calling this opportunity as a special one for him, Satish also mentioned that Om’s wife Seema is like a sister to him and he was more than happy to receive this honour but asserted that he would never be able to match up to Om Puri’s skills.
On the other hand, expressing her gratitude towards Satish Kaushik who came on board, Seema also appreciated Satish’s efforts of flying down all the way from Delhi to Mumbai to finish the voiceover.
The International Indian Film Awards just might be the biggest awards functions for Indian films. But in a land where there are numerous such film awards what makes one stand out. Well doing just that are the organizers of the IIFA awards Wizcraft. In fact, we hear that the events management company is all set on venturing into production with a full length feature film.
If that wasn’t well, we also here that the IIFA event which is set to be held in the US will feature majorly in the film which is based on the IIFA awards. Interestingly, since the film will feature the function itself, a host of celebrities attending the show will be seen doing a cameo in the film.
Post the completion of the shoot at the awards function, the rest of the film will be shot starring Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles. As of now no other details of the yet untitled IIFA movie are available.
Although we have seen the same characters being retained for the Dabangg franchise, the film underwent changes behind the camera when the sequel hit the silver screen. Now yet again, a new filmmaker has been roped in for the third installment and it is none other than Prabhu Dheva.
While we will be more than happy to see the Wanted team at work [for those who came in late, Wanted starring Salman Khan was directed by Prabhu Dheva], we are yet to receive further details on the same. For the past one year, there have been several speculations about Dabangg 3. Earlier, with the constant reports doing the rounds about Arbaaz directing the same, Salman Khan had to come out to clarify that the news was untrue.
There were further reports last year which claimed that Salman Khan has already started shooting for the film, when pictures of his cop avatar started doing the rounds on social media. However, it was only recently, the director for the third film in the franchise has been finalized.
On the other hand, yet another rumour doing the rounds was the change in the leading lady which it was being said was not Sonakshi Sinha. However, when confronted the actress, she maintained that she was unaware of any such detail.
Let us also tell you that both the films in the franchise were directed by two different directors, wherein, the two installments were directed by Abhinav Kashyap and Arbaaz Khan respectively.
As of now, it is yet to be known when Salman Khan will kick start the shoot of the film since the superstar is already busy with other commitments.
Quite a while back now we saw the release of the Vidya balan starrer Kahaani 2. While the film itself went on to do decently well at the box office, the makers of the film faced another issue, after a complaint had been filed against them for alleged unfair business practices. The complaint had been filed with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) by K Sera Sera Digital stating that the producers of Kahaani, Pen India and Boundscript Motion Pictures had refused to provide the movie to it for exhibition.
Now in its ruling the CCI dismissed the complaint against the producers of Vidya Balan-Arjun Rampal starrer Kahaani 2 stating that there is no substance in K Sera Sera's allegation that the producers refused to provide the movie due to an anti-competitive pact with UFO Moviez and Real Image Media. Further the regulator has concluded that there was no violation of Section 3 of the Competition Act that pertains to anti- competitive agreements.
This verdict comes after Pen India had submitted to the CCI copies of a news article about a complaint filed by producer Viacom18 against K Sera Sera in relation to online piracy of the movie Force 2 that was released in November 2016. In the nine-page order, the regulator cited the fact that K Sera Sera has neither refuted the allegations reported in the news article during the oral hearing nor presented any documents to disprove the same in their written submissions after the oral hearing.
While passing its verdict the Commission also observed that the decision of Pen India and Boundscript Motion Pictures had refused to provide the content of the movie Kahaani 2 to K Sera Sera the informant does not appear to be unreasonable and anti-competitive.
While this Eid is being dominated by superstar Salman Khan’s solo release Tubelight, Salman Khan is also looking forward to his forthcoming projects. And amongst them, we hear that the actor is all set to collaborate once again with brother-in-law-producer Atul Agnihotri for his next. With constant speculations about the same doing rounds for quite some time now, it is recently being said that the title for the film has been locked.
Apparently, the Salman Khan starrer Atul Agnihotri film has been titled Bharat [aka India]. While it is yet to be known if the theme of the film will be patriotism or anything else, reportedly, the film is currently in the initial stages. Besides this, the film will once again bring together the actor-director jodi of Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar.
For the uninitiated, let us remind you that the two of them are already working on Tiger Zinda Hai. Ali is directing the film which also stars Katrina Kaif in the lead for the Yash Raj banner.
Coming back to the film Bharat, the details of the film are yet to be revealed.
Just a few days ago, we had revealed that Abhishek Bachchan, who is on a film signing spree, will be a part of J P Dutta’s Paltan. Dutta, who is known for his war dramas, is all set to recreate the fictional account inspired by real life military battle and while the announcement of the star cast did not come as a surprise, the recent decision of Junior Bachchan definitely has left everyone surprised.
Abhishek Bachchan, who was said to be a part of four films before signing Paltan, has now decided to make an exit from one of them. Apparently, the actor has walked out of Ronnie Screwvala’s forthcoming production co-starring Irrfan Khan. The film is said to be about a road trip and will explore male bond between actors. While Abhishek and Irrfan had already met up once for the project and had started to bond, the former had to drop it out to avoid a clash with the schedule of Paltan.
The Irrfan Khan starrer will go on floor only next year after the actor completes his Hollywood project. However this schedule turned out to be difficult for Abhishek who will have to kick start Paltan. Since Abhishek shares a great rapport with JP Dutta who also directed his debut film Refugee, the actor did not want to reject the film and instead decided to quit Ronnie’s project.
As of now, reports state that the makers are on a hunt for an actor to replace Abhishek Bachchan and talks are on with Ayushmann Khurrana. While the latter looks impressed with the script, he is yet to wrap up the formalities. Directed by Akarsh Khurana and written by Hussain Dalal, the film in question is said to be a slice-of-life comedy.
On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan will soon kick start his next with Ram Gopal Varma titled Sanak in which he essays the role of an encounter specialist.
Aditi Rao Hydari, whose Tamil debut recently earned rave reviews, is all set to dip her hands into singing for the first time. However, she wouldn’t be doing playback singing or singing one of the songs in the forthcoming films but Aditi will be making her debut on stage.
Reportedly, Aditi Rao Hydari is currently planning to make her big singing debut on stage for the awards gala IIFA, which will be held in New York next month. The actress apparently got inspired to sing because of none other than AR Rahman. Recent news reports claim that Aditi got an opportunity to hum a few lines in her previous film, directed by Mani Ratnam. When Rahman heard her voice, it left everyone around her surprised and the Oscar winning composer asked her to make her singing debut.
And now, we hear that not just that, the actress will also share the stage at IIFA for her singing debut with none other than A R Rahman himself. It is being said that the musician-singer will be performing on stage during the star-studded evening and joining him will be Aditi who will be singing a couple of songs with him.
It has also been learnt that considering she will be singing with A R Rahman, the actress has already started preparations for the same and has apparently been following the riyaaz schedule quite sincerely.
On the Bollywood front, Aditi Rao Hydari will soon be seen in Padmavati, playing the role of Ranveer Singh’s wife. The actress will also play the lead as well as Sanjay Dutt’s daughter in the much talked about film Bhoomi.
While she has been born and brought up in Maharashtra, we haven’t seen Sonakshi Sinha doing one of the most popular traditional dance forms of the state – that is Lavani. Neither on screen nor off screen have we seen the actress grooving to these numbers. But this time around Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up to set the stage on fire with her dance.
Readers may be aware that Sonakshi Sinha is currently one of the judges of the celebrity couple dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ for its eighth season. With this season nearing its finale, reportedly, the judges will be putting up a glamorous act along with former contestants to boost the spirit of the finalists as well as for entertaining viewers. For the same, Sonakshi Sinha will be performing lavani.
From what we hear, the songs shortlisted for Sonakshi Sinha’s performance include ‘Pinga’ from Bajirao Mastani, ‘Radha Nachegi’ from Tevar as well as ‘Dagabaaz’ from Dabanng 2. Also, we will be seeing the actress draped in a nauvari for the said act. Excited about doing the same, Sonakshi Sinha described the dance form as ‘light on the feet and graceful’. She further mentioned that her act would be spectacular one.
Speaking about the rehearsals, the actress revealed that she has practiced the same for about two hours for three days. Besides her, her co-judges, filmmaker Mohit Suri as well as dancer-choreographer Terence Lewis too will be putting up their individual acts.
The finale of Nach Baliye 8 is said to be a grand and star-studded event with actors like Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor as well as Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif coming to promote their films Mubarakan and Jagga Jasoos respectively.
On the film front, Sonakshi Sinha recently wrapped up Ittefaq and the actress is yet to talk about her forthcoming projects.
Vipul Shah who directed some immensely successful films during the earlier part of this millennium like Aankhen, Waqt and Namaste London with Akshay Kumar in lead is all set to return to direction again. His last film as director was Action Replay in 2010 again with Akshay.
This time Akshay Kumar won’t play the lead in Vipul’s directorial venture. Apparently Vipul had approached Saif Ali Khan to play the lead. But his efforts to sign the moody actor came to a dead end.
Confirming that he is indeed returning to direction Vipul says, “Yes I will be directing another film soon. It is a film about human drug-testing. But Saif Ali Khan is not in it.”
Though in real life India’s historic Olympics victory in 1948 when the hockey team brought home the gold medal, was played at the Wembley stadium in London, filmmaker Reema Kagti who is all set to direct a film on India’s historic win will shoot the Olympian game in Bradford, a mountainous green city in Yorkshire, England with a large Asian population.
Apparently Reema intends to shoot the big Olympian 1948 Hockey game with Akshay Kumar and the rest of the cast in the verdant vastness of Bradford using the local Asian population as spectators.
Confirming that a part of the film will be shot in Bradford Reema Kagti also confirms that Akshay Kumar’s leading lady in Gold would be television actress Mouni Roy. Reema says she wanted to do a sports film for the longest time. “My friend the lyricist-writer Ankur Tiwari shared the idea of a film on a historic hockey match that India played at the 1948 Olympics and brought home India’s first gold medal. I finally got down to doing my own sports film.”
Reema is prompt to stress that the film, scripted by Rajesh Devraj, is not a historical account of the actual game. “Mine would be a fictional take on what actually happened. The game of hockey would feature prominently in the plot. But there will also be a strong human drama playing at the forefront. And it wouldn’t be just the Olympics victory in 1948 we will be looking at. Gold will look at 12 crucial years in India’s history.”
Ahead of its China release later this year, Yash Raj Films’ mega blockbuster Sultan sets the stage by winning the prestigious Best Action Movie award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. This Salman Khan- Anushka Sharma starrer is the first Indian film to win this award.
Within the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Jackie Chan Action Movie Week focuses on a selection of the best in action, special effects, and performances by action stars from China and the Asia Pacific. Action from the region is emulated globally on film and TV. Given that a combination of judge assessment and audience vote at the festival decides the winners, Sultan’s wide appeal and impressive action has won over international audiences.
Prakash Gupta, Consul General of India, Shanghai, accepted this award on behalf of Yash Raj Films.
Avtar Panesar, Vice President, International Operations, said “Sultan has broken new ground in presenting classic, home grown Indian action on the big screen. The love from audiences in China is very gratifying, and the top prize at the Jackie Chan Action Movie Week is an achievement that we are proud of.” Director Ali Abbas Zafar adds, “We are very happy with all the love and respect we got at SIFF. Receiving an award under the action category from Jackie Chan is just super special. As a child he has been one of the most inspiring action stars for me and many Indians. Sultan is about desi, Indian wrestling and its raw power. Amidst a selection of brilliant action films that present the most refined martial arts, the film’s win is rewarding, and reflects that a good story based in action has universal appeal.”
In 2016, the Best Action Movie award had been given to IP Man 3, a cult Chinese action franchise that is popular worldwide. Sultan had also received a standing ovation during screenings at the esteemed Busan International Film Festival.
Kapil Sharma, who has been in the news for his alleged split with co-stars of his comedy-skit show The Kapil Sharma show, is now caught up in yet another issue. This time around it is related to his remuneration and we hear that the comedian-actor has reduced his fee.
Kapil Sharma, who leads the team of ‘The Kapil Sharma’ show, recently faced trouble when most of the actors on his show quit it after his fight with Sunil Grover. This has further led trouble to the channel which is apparently facing a dip in the TRPs owing to the exit of the actors. And now we hear that the channel and Kapil after a series of discussion has decided to renegotiate the rates. Kapil Sharma has reportedly decided to charge less fees for the said show.
What more, earlier we had reported that Krushna Abhishek will be kick starting a new comedy show with a tad bit different format called ‘The Drama Company’ which features former actors of The Kapil Sharma Show, that is, Ali Asgar and Sugandha Mishra with Sunil Grover making short appearances. The said show will be airing on the same channel at 8 pm while Kapil’s show will be telecast at 9 which is its usual time slot.
This can be yet another reason why we believe Kapil Sharma would have taken the drastic step of reduction in his remuneration.
