Earlier this year, Neena Gupta was excited to shoot for Sooryavanshi. The actress was essaying the role of Akshay Kumar's mother in the film. But, it seems like director Rohit Shetty and Neena Gupta parted ways since the role didn't fit the storyline.
Neena Gupta shot for a few days but when Rohit Shetty realized her part didn't fit into the larger narrative, she was informed that her character would be etched out. As the story revolves around Akshay and Katrina's characters, Neena understood Rohit's dilemma and bowed out of the film. But there's no bad blood between her and the director. She even quipped that Rohit will have to compensate by offering her the role in his next.
Neena Gupta, meanwhile, will be starring in Ayushmann Khurrana's Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. It is scheduled to release on February 21, 2019.
Ever since Dabangg released 10 years ago, we saw the quirky Chulbul Pandey become a fan favourite. The actor, since then has made it into a franchise and is currently promoting Dabangg 3. Interestingly, Chulbul Pandey was a negative character in the first script.
Salman Khan, on Saturday, revealed, "It was a very dark film, small film to be made under Rs 2 crore. At that point of time, it had Randeep Hooda and Arbaaz. So Arbaaz said he has been approached for this and it’s a good one so just hear it."
“Then six-eight months passed before I finally heard it. I think UTV was supposed to do it. I liked the feel of the film but Chulbul was out and out negative.”
Salman said when he read it, he suggested Arbaaz and Abhinav Kashyap to make some changes. “That film didn’t have any action, certainly not at this scale. There were no songs and we never get to know who killed the mother... We started working on it and Abhinav agreed to all those changes. He did a very good job with the first one."
He further said when Dabangg 2 was happening, Abhinav wasn't keen on directing it. “We asked him to do the second one but for whatever reasons he said he didn’t want to do it, that we didn’t let him make his film.”
Dabangg 3 starring Salman Khan and directed by Prabhu Dheva is releasing on December 20, 2019.
Veteran actress Gita Siddharth, who was best known for her role in 1973 film Garam Hava, passed away on Saturday evening. The actress breathed her last on December 14, 2019, in Mumbai.
Gita Siddharth made her debut in the industry with Gulzar’s Parichay in the year 1972. The film starred Jeetendra and Jaya Bachchan. She worked in the industry throughout 70s and the 80s. She was part of the films like Trishul, Disco Dancer, Sholay, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Noorie, Desh Premee, Dance Dance, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki, Shaukeen, Arth, Mandi, Ek Chadar Maili Si, Gaman and Doosra Aadmi.
Gita Siddharth was married to documentary and TV producer Siddharth Kak.
Salman Khan, who is promoting Dabangg 3, recently received a threat from Ghaziabad teen. The Mumbai Police booked him for sending an email claiming that a bomb was to set off at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments. The email stated that the bomb was to go off within the next two hours – from the time of sending the mail.
The email read, “Bandra me Galaxy, Salman Khan ke ghar par agle 2 ghante me blast hoga, rok sakte ho to rok lo (Within the next two hours, a bomb blast will occur at Salman Khan's residence at the Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. Stop it if you can).”
After the mail was sent to Salman Khan on December 4, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), police officers including Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police, rushed to his residence. Salman Khan was not at home when the cops arrived at his residence. The family including Salman’s parents Salim Khan and Salma Khan, his sister Arpita Khan Sharma were evacuated by the cops and the BDDS team. The officials then thoroughly checked the apartment, every corner and nook of the building for around three to four hours. After a thorough inspection, the family was sent back to their apartment.
Salman Khan is back in the quirky cop avatar Chulbul Pandey in his upcoming film, Dabangg 3. The film is directed by Prabhu Dheva. Salman recently admitted that Dabangg 4 script is ready as well and he is pumped to work on it too.
"It is very difficult (to take a franchise forward). But this one has fallen in place. Even the fourth one has fallen in place. It happens sometimes, like Rocky or Rambo series, which falls in place. So this one has too," Salman Khan said on Saturday.
Since Dabangg 3 will have young Chulbul Pandey and we will get to see flashback scenes as well, Salman said this is semi prequel. "I came up with a thought and Arbaaz and I just kept on improvising, brainstorming. We wanted to start from the present and go in the past to track the journey of Chulbul Pandey and how his past comes in his present. It's not entirely a prequel. The whole film isn't set in the past. It's semi-prequel."
A career spanning over three decades, Salman Khan has cemented his position as one of the most successful action stars in the industry. "I don't think anything works better than heroism. If you have heroism in a film, it works. Heroism doesn't mean you're romancing a girl or... It means doing something for someone against all odds and you make that happen. Action doesn't make sense till the time you don't have emotions backing it. It doesn't matter you jump, punch, kick or the numbers of fighters you fight, if its emotions isn't set in the right place. The action is meaningless," he added.
In Dabangg 3, Sonakshi Sinha will be reprising her role as his on-screen wife Rajjo. Dabangg 3 also stars Arbaaz Khan and Mahie Gill in pivotal roles and marks the debut of Saiee Manjrekar. South superstar Kichcha Sudeep will be playing the antagonist in Dabangg 3. The film has been directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Nikhil Dwivedi under the banner of Salman Khan Films and is slated to release on 20th December, this year.

Salman Khan is currently promoting Dabangg 3 in full swing which is only a few days away from its release. The actor is also simultaneously shooting for his Eid 2020 release, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai. The film will reunite Salman Khan and Prabhu Dheva. The makers have established certain rules on the set which need to be followed by every cast and crew member.
Radhe is being shot at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai where a pamphlet has been put on a board with 15 guidelines to follow. Apart from no littering and following the decorum on set, some rules are maintaining the buddy-up system between the team members and avoiding the use of inappropriate language.
Nikhil Namit, who is collaborating with Atul Agnihotri and Salman Khan Films, said that he and Atul have always followed certain rules ever since they collaborated on Bodyguard in 2011. This was followed in Dabangg franchise as well. The producer said that this is to have the right atmosphere on the sets of the film and that is why certain guidelines are set.
He further said that the rules are followed by everyone including cast and crew members. From practical suggestions like ‘Don’t carry food to set’ or ‘Don’t smoke on set’, they want to maintain a harmonious atmosphere on the sets of Radhe.
Radhe is produced by Sohail Khan & Reel Life Production Pvt. Limited under the banner of Salman Khan Films. The film is reportedly the remake of the Korean movie The Outlaws which released in 2017. It was directed by Kang Yoon-sung and starred Ma Dong-Seok and Yoon Kye-Sang.

Actress Deepika Padukone has been declared as the sexiest Asian woman of the decade recently by an online portal in London. Speaking about it the actress shared, "I find it ironic that such recognition coincides with the release of a film such as Chhapaak. There is no better time than now to redefine what beauty and sex appeal has been understood as and meant to society for so many years".
The trailer of Deepika's Chhapaak was unveiled recently and it was received exceptionally well by the audience and the actress was hailed by one and all.
Deepika has never been one to shy away from talking about social issues and recently launched the closet initiative where she auctions her clothes from her own collections and all the proceeds go to 'Live Love Laugh Foundation'. The foundation aims at giving hope to those experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression.
On the work front, the actress will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak, a film based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She will also feature in Kabir Khan's '83 where Deepika will be essaying the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Dev in the film.
Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Panipat – The Great Betrayal, a period drama, portraying the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau. Even though the film was quite a well-made one, it failed to show results and gather footfall at the box office. In a recent interview with a leading daily, Arjun Kapoor opened up about how he does not sign films to seek external validation and proving himself. Even though the audience’s reactions matter, he chooses to enjoy the roles that he takes up because doing things for results might just cause him to make the wrong decision.
Even though he agreed that being a star kid helps in the industry, Aditya Chopra did not hesitate in rejecting him at least 4 times before he signed him for Ishaqzaade. Arjun Kapoor says his rejection and selection weren’t because of his last name, he could have easily asked his father to make a few calls to Aditya Chopra, but he chose to audition for roles himself. Expressing his respect for actors like Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal, Arjun says the non-star kids definitely have it more difficult than them and he respects them for it.
Coming to his last release, Panipat, Arjun said that this genre was something he always wanted to explore, so as soon as he was offered the role, he jumped right in without thinking too much about it.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is undoubtedly one of the finest actresses in this generation. While she has been a part of several blockbusters, she has also starred in unconventional films like Chameli, Heroine among others. But, in her 19 years career, she never had to audition for any project. Interestingly, she did audition for Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha which marks the reunion of the two stars after 3 Idiots and Talaash.
When asked whether she was hesitant in auditioning for a role, Kareena Kapoor Khan said, “I would never audition and I have never did it in 20 years. No one has ever told me to do scenes. But I think that if it was for Hollywood or anything else, I don’t think I would have auditioned. But I have auditioned it only because it’s Aamir Khan. I know what his potential is and I know his intent. He creates a world, he wants to be 100% sure in that world. While reading the scenes, I was already sure that this will happen as I knew that I have nailed it. He also told me that, ‘When you were midway through the scene, I was telling Advait that it is done’. He can see his character and I really admire him for that.”
Furthermore, when enquired whether she is afraid of rejections, she added, “No, I think this concept was not there earlier. Even Saif told me that ‘What is the big deal? We all should do it. Actors should audition for the part.’ All the actors in Hollywood like Al Pacino don’t get a part unless they audition. Saif also said that if actors like me also start doing it, then it will be better. This is why I auditioned for it.”
Laal Singh Chaddha is an official adaptation of Forrest Gump which starred Tom Hanks. The film is scheduled for Christmas 2020 release. She is currently promoting Good Newwz which stars Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh. It is scheduled to release on December 27, 2019.
Filmmaking is a challenging art. There are a lot of elements that must come together and putting the right elements together leads to the inception of a project, let alone a company. Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment can rightly be called a rebellion against established producing and distributing creative content.
Over its six and a half decades of existence, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment has established a reputation as one of the most prestigious production houses in the country.
Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment is responsible for epic classics like Judwaa, Andolan, and cult comedy series Housefull. This year will mark a place in the history of the company with them celebrating their sky blue anniversary and commanding the box-office with three successful movies - Chhichhore - a pure Bollywood drama, Super 30 - a real-life drama and Housefull 4 - a cult comedy. Movies, as varied as the above, have excelled on the box office and continues to leave an impact.
The company works relentlessly and efficiently to preserve and protect the movie's authenticity and to make important films accessible in their best possible presentations for generations to come.
It's a short yet effective reminder of the kinds of movies that Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment continues to make and holds a strong grip in the industry.

Vedhika said that it is the humble attitude of Emraan that helped them break the ice while shooting some intense and rather intimate scenes.
Vedhika, who did not have any prominent scenes with Rishi Kapoor, had her fan moment with the actor when the actor invited her along with the team for lunch.
Vedhika has a huge body of work to her credit. Talking about the difference between both the industries, Vedhika said that there is not much difference except for the language and the work styles. The actress said that she learnt a lot about the craft while working down south and is now aiming to do more work in Bollywood.
Ready to take on Bollywood with everything else it has to offer, the actress spoke about her dream casting. Besides the obvious greats like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, she said that she would really like to work with a Rajkummar Rao or a Vicky Kaushal. She also said that she finds Ayushmann Khurrana fabulous.
Deepika Padukone's upcoming movie Chhapaak is inspired by a true-life story based on acid attack survivor and has already created a buzz before its release. The trailer of the movie was released on World Human Rights Day and it shook the audience and critics by its impact.
Recently, when the director Meghna Gulzar was asked about how she felt when she saw the trailer of the movie, she revealed, "When the first cut came out, it was interesting to see someone else’s interpretation of the film and heartening that it reflected the spirit of the girl."
She continues by saying, "And since it came on its own, I felt that if the film is emanating this, we are in a good space." As soon as the trailer was live it received a lot of praise from celebrities and the audience because of the movie's gripping storyline.
Chhapaak highlights the life of an acid attack survivor puts forth the confidence of the victim to be taken as a lesson and marks her as an inspiration for those who have faced a similar situation.
Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is produced by KA Productions & Fox Star Studios all set to release on 10th January 2020. The film also is presented by Fox Star Studios.
The debate around politically correct cinema is increasing. The question arises whether the artists should be held responsible for the kind of cinema they are being part of. Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh created an uproar when it released as netizens stated it glorified toxic masculinity. But, Anurag Kashyap says that it is important to have such stories on a big screen that makes the audience uncomfortable.
"The first thing is, it's up to you whether you want to take it on or not. If I disagree with something, if I don't consider the cinema of a kind cinema at all, I can't say it cannot exist. I can't enforce that. We can all co-exist," Anurag Kashyap said.
The director was talking to PTI at the launch of Audible Suno, an audio show platform.
"Like there were a lot of controversies around Kabir Singh. Everybody can make any film and should make any film, should represent all kinds of people. Kabir Singh does represent more than 75-80 percent of urban India. Why not put it out? If I disagree with it, I won't see it. But sometimes it's necessary to see ourselves," the director further said.
The filmmaker, who has made films like Gangs Of Wasseypur, said, "Being politically correct all the time doesn't help. India as a country, for 75 years, has made films with positive messages, all love stories with happy endings. Where has it brought us? It is very important to make people uncomfortable sometimes."
Since the debate around the film Kabir Singh increased, Anurag was asked whether actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui would take responsibility for the violence depicted in the film. Nawazuddin said, "What happens in the society, who takes responsibility for that? Films show a very diluted version of what happens out there." Kashyap said artistes are always attracted to everything forbidden.
"When you're told as a kid by your mother not to touch something, you go and touch exactly that. So the human curiosity, for actors and everyone, takes them to things which are forbidden. I'm forever attracted and in love with what is forbidden," he added.

Wing Commander Abhinandan is a national hero and the Balakot Airstrike 2019 happens to be an event of immense pride for the entire nation. In a shocking though not unexpected turn of events, yesteryears’ boxoffice queen the ebullient Moushumi Chatterjee known for her dancing eyes and mischievous smile, lost her daughter Payal after a long battle to save her life.
Payal suffered from a lethal form of diabetes. Married into a business family, Payal was apparently in a coma for some time year. Last year, Moushumi went through a bitter courtroom battle with her daughter’s husband and in-laws over Payal’s medical treatment and visiting rights. She accused her daughter’s in-laws of neglect and refusal to let the mother meet her daughter. Charges that they denied.
In an interview in 2017 when Moushumi’s last film Piku was released, the actress had proudly said to me, “Both my daughters are well-settled. The elder one Payal works with Disney and the younger Megha did two films but quit to become a social worker. Everyone comes with their own destiny in life.”
In the past few years, Moushumi has become increasingly secluded from the film industry. An old colleague and co-star says, “I haven’t seen Moushumi for years. She has shown no interest in keeping up with any of her colleagues. I’m shocked to hear about her daughter. May God give Moushumi the strength to deal with this tragedy.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently lost his sister, Syama Tamshi Siddiqui, who lost her battle to cancer a few days ago. The 26-year-old had been battling the disease for the past 8 years. As heartbreaking as the news is, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has proven yet again that he is a thorough professional who can keep emotions at bay for his professional commitments. He was in New York shooting for his upcoming film No Land’s Man when he got the news of his sister passing away.
The director of No Land’s Man, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki recently opened up about Nawazuddin’s dedication. Mustafa said that Nawazuddin usually got emotional while performing scenes that included his reel-life sister, whose character is co-incidentally named Saima in the film. Being the great actor that he is, he would quickly regain his composure and continue with the scene. Nawazuddin even asked his director if he knew that he has a sister named Syama too and Mostofa revealed to him that the script was written 5 years ago, so he couldn’t possibly be aware of this fact.
Taking to his Instagram, Mostofa shared a heartwarming post applauding Nawazuddin's unwavering dedication.

Life of an artist! While rehearsing a scene from No Land's Man, @nawazuddin._siddiqui became slightly emotional but, since he is extremely professional, Nawaz quickly regained his composure. Later on I came to know the reason. The scene I mentioned was between him and his sister whose reel name was Saima. He asked me if I knew his sister's name is Saima too. I answered negative as my script was written five years ago and I had no idea about his sister. He then told me his sister Saima has been suffering from cancer for eight years and he has been trying everything he could to help her in this battle. So whenever he had scenes with Saima, he was feeling extremely emotional. I didn't know how to respond to this strange connection. I forgot this quickly as I had other things to deal with. Two days ago, while we were shooting a scene, he received a call. We had no idea what was going on. He completed the scene brilliantly. After we packed up, I came to know he lost his sister while we were shooting that scene. I have recently developed some idea about this man's attachment to his family. As someone who is strongly connected to the family, I could completely understand how he was feeling. I didn't know how to deal with this situation. But he knew. While coordinating everything back home, he continued his shoot and made sure our New York shoot is completed. He will fly home today. Maybe he will be standing silently in front of her grave. Maybe they will speak thousand words in silence. Maybe fiction and reality will merge into each other. #nolandsmanfilm

During one of the scenes, Nawazuddin couldn’t stop crying when shooting and still managed to brilliantly perform the scene keeping his emotional turmoil at bay. When he found out that his sister was no more, he stayed back to finish the schedule as planned and performed effortlessly.
More power to you, Nawazuddin Siddiqui!

It is breaking new ground with spoken-word entertainment, showcasing a wide range of deeply Indian stories told by some of India’s most famous voices. The series featuring my voice, Kaali Awaazein, is a fictional psychological thriller inspired by ghost stories and supernatural sightings, designed with immersive 3D sound to make these stories come alive on Audible Suno in a way I hope my fans would enjoy. I think an audio show can spark imagination in ways that few other formats can, leading to a powerful experience as a listener. I am proud to be a part of what promises to be a wonderful and rewarding journey,” said Thriller Factory performer and actor Tabu.
“Comedy can often rely on being visually engaging. So, Be Stupid with Vir Das was a cool creative puzzle - trying to get the funny from my mouth to your ears with nothing in between! More than anything else, I got to sit down with amazing people. I'm a storyteller at heart and I can't wait to bring you their hilarious and stupid stories. I’m so glad I was able to explore this new medium with Audible Suno, and I hope my audience listens to me and other series on the app, from my particular stupid...all the way to the sensible,” said comedian Vir Das.
