An FIR was registered against two officials of the streaming platform Netflix India in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through the web series ‘A Suitable Boy’. The series directed by Mira Nair shows kissing scenes on the premises of a temple.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that the FIR has named Monika Shergill, Vice President, Content (Netflix) and Ambika Khurana, Director, Public Policies (Netflix). The complaint was filed by Bhartaiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM) national secretary Gaurav Tiwari who demanded apology from Netflix India and the makers of the series and removal of objectionable scenes which he stated were also "encouraging love jihad".
“Kissing scenes (filmed) inside a temple of Lord Maheshwar (a historic town located on the banks of Narmada in Madhya Pradesh) have hurt the sentiments of Hindus. This is also encouraging ‘love jihad’,” Tiwari had stated.
Home Minister Mishra in a video said, “ I had asked officials to examine the series ‘A Suitable Boy’ being streamed on Netflix to check if kissing scenes in it were filmed in a temple and if it hurt religious sentiments. The examination prima facie found that these scenes are hurting the sentiments of a particular religion.”
“On the basis of a complaint filed by Gaurav Tiwari, an FIR is being registered under section 295 (A) (malicious acts to outrage and insulting the religious feelings and beliefs) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Rewa against Netflix officials- Monika Shergill and Ambika Khurana," he added.
The six part series is an adaptation of the book A Suitable Boy written by Vikram Seth. The series has been directed by renowned filmmaker Mira Nair who has made films like Salaam Bombay, Monsoon Wedding and The Namesake.

Yesterday, an interesting poster of Durgamati, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Arshad Warsi, was launched by the makers of the film – T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment and superstar Akshay Kumar, who is the presenter of the film. While Bhumi’s intense look got praises, it also left fans and industry bewildered. After all, this film was launched with the title Durgavati. The change of the film’s title was sudden and took everyone by surprise.
A source says, “No one exactly knows why the film’s title has been changed. But the general perception in the trade and industry is that the makers wanted to avoid a controversy. Akshay Kumar’s recent release Laxmii was earlier named Laxmmi Bomb and it led to brouhaha. They were unnecessarily accused of hurting the religious sentiments. Similarly, maybe Durgamati makers went for a title change before any controversy can erupt. This is because Durgavati is a celebrated historical figure who had bravely fought the Mughals. 3 years back, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had a harrowing time when he made a film on queen Padmavati. The film was ultimately rechristened to Padmaavat. The Bhumi Pednekar-starrer, however, is not about Rani Durgavati but still they decided to change it to Durgamati as a precaution.”
The source, however, clears the air that no group or organization had protested against Durgavati’s title. “If there had been a protest or objection, then the media would have known. These groups thrive on the attention they receive from the press. So they would have definitely publicized their disgust over the title. But that’s not been the case and hence, it seems like the makers renamed the title on their own without any pressure. As the Hera Pheri meme goes, bilkul ricks nahi lene ka,” laughs the source and signs off.
Despite repeated attempts, Durgamati’s producer Vikram Malhotra remained unavailable for comment.
Durgamati is a remake of 2018 successful Tamil horror film Bhaagamathie. Just like the original, the remake is also directed by G Ashok. It will release on December 11 on Amazon Prime.
1990s superstar-scamster Harshad Mehta is now once again a household name, thanks to Hansal Mehta’s series. And to think Varun Dhawan was all set to play Harshad Mehta in a film to be produced by Paresh Rawal! Reliable sources say, Varun was all but locked in to play Harshad Mehta by Paresh. But the script for the bio-pic was stuck. They finally had to scrap the idea.
This is when Sameer Nair and Applause Entertainment stepped in and acquired the rights to make a web series on Harshad Mehta. An unknown Gujarati actor was roped in to play Harshad Mehta. Pratik Gandhi is now a household name.
Says Hansal Mehta, “I’m aware that Harshad Mehta’s story has had long journey to the screen. Hota hai. Every story has its own destiny. I had to face a lot of resistance while casting Pratik Gandhi. Many big names were suggested. But I wanted Pratik. Then I was advised to do some padding in the casting. But I refused to cast known faces even in supporting roles. I now feel one of the reasons why Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story worked so well was the relatively unknown faces on screen. They all looked like the characters they were playing.”
The show has received a remarkable response from audiences for its gripping performances from Pratik Gandhi and Shreya Dhanwanthary, stellar direction by Hansal Mehta and an exceptional script from Sumit Purohit, Saurav Dey, Vaibhav Vishal and Karan Vyas.
The announcement that the new Salman Khan starrer Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai will only release in movie theatres and not go the OTT way, may come as a surprise only to those completely outside Salman Khan’s circle.
Anyone who knows him even remotely knows that it would never be digital for Salman. Reveals a close friend, “He’s been offered humongous amounts to do digital content. He has said a firm no to all the offers.”
Apparently, Salman was offered Rs. 250 crores for a digital series on one of the leading platforms.
“Salman didn’t consider the offer even for a second,” says the friend. Radhe director Prabhu Dheva confirms, “As far as I know it was never a digital release for Salman.”
Salman Khan has never taken on more work in his entire career. Scarcely was he out of Dabangg 3 than he started, and completed another feature film Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai, the unofficial sequel to Salman-Prabhu Dheva’s Wanted.

Bollywood Hungama was the first to inform that Shah Rukh Khan had begun shooting for War director Sidharth Anand's out and out action film titled Pathan, which will be a part of YRF’s prestigious 50 years slate. We also informed that SRK will be accompanied by John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in the film. The shooting kicked off in early November with SRK sporting edgy look.
Now, it's been learnt that Deepika Padukone will be essaying the role of an agent in the film. As per a daily, on Monday, Deepika joined the team for a couple of days of shoot. She is juggling between this movie and Shakun Batra's next. She is set to join SRK in mid December and the major chunk of action packed sequences will be shot between January and June 2021.
As far as Deepika's character is concerned, it is set in the world of agents as she will perform a lot of action. Her character is edgy who joins Pathan on a mission. Buzz is that it is on the lines of Katrina Kaif's Zoya from Tiger franchise.
Yash Raj Films is apparently creating a universe of sorts with their agents' franchise. It is being reported that Salman Khan will make an appearance as Tiger in Pathan, SRK as Pathan in Tiger 3 and both of them will reportedly appear in War sequel to join Hrithik Roshan's Kabir.
With Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan will make an appearance on the screen almost three years after his last release, Zero which was directed by Aanand L Rai.

While the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a shutdown of theatres and forced filmmakers to take to OTT platforms for releasing their projects, filmmaker-writer Faruk Kabir has no regrets. In fact, he’s glad that his Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi-starrer, Khuda Haafiz released digitally. "I expected the story to resonate with the youth, but since it released on OTT, people across all age groups reached out to me and told me how the film impacted them,” he says.
Since the film was received well, the makers announced soon after the release that Khuda Haafiz would have a sequel. Faruk says that he always knew that the film would require a second part. He says, “The story of Sameer and Nargis (the lead actors) remained unfinished at the end of the film. I had once shared the idea of a sequel with Vidyut, so that his imagination could take flight. Post the success of the film, Kumarji (Kumar Mangat, producer) was eager I carry the journey forward".
Khuda Haafiz was inspired by the story of a real-life newlywed couple. Faruk says that the idea of the sequel came to his mind because of the couple and the various incidents from their life that he would like to recreate on screen. The director has about three months of writing to do before the sequel goes on the floors in April, 2021.
While Khuda Haafiz was majorly shot in Uzbekistan, the location for shooting the sequel is yet to be finalised. "We might shoot the film in two different locations,” says Faruk, adding that the sequel will be a bigger challenge for the lead pair and a more difficult film to approach emotionally."
Talking about his lead actor, Vidyut, and the bond he shares with him, Faruk says, “Our relationship goes beyond films. After a long time, I’ve found a friend within the industry. Our conversations are never limited to cinema. I want to showcase the depth in his personality on screen. As far as his character in the film goes, the sequel will see him do action sequences, as that’s his forte, but only as per the requirement of the character."
Faruk hasn’t finalised the rest of the cast yet, but reveals that there will be three-four significant secondary characters who are still being developed.
Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli were summoned by the Mumbai Police on November 23 and 24. They were summoned after a case was filed against the siblings for allegedly making objectionable comments on social media that created communal tension. On Monday, the sisters filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking to cancel a First Information Report (FIR) registered against them.
This is the third time Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel were summoned by the police. They were earlier summoned on October 26 and 27 and on November 9 and 10. However, they failed to appear on both occasions citing that they were busy with the wedding preparation of their brother in Himachal Pradesh.
A First Information Report (FIR) was filed against Kangana and Rangoli following a complaint by a casting director, who alleged that the actress is creating ‘a communal divide between people of two communities and in the mind of common man' via her tweets on Twitter. The petitioner, Sahil Ashrafali Sayyed, also mentioned Rangoli in the complaint. He said that Kangana is creating a divide between Hindu and Muslim artists and maliciously bringing religion in almost all her tweets.

India’s first female comic book superhero, Priya, is gearing up to dive into a brand-new riveting adventure. The fourth edition of India’s first pioneering comic book series, ‘Priya’s Mask’ this time tackles the unprecedented global COVID-19 pandemic that has challenged everyone in India and around the world. The comic book and film will be released worldwide on December 2, 2020 on multiple platforms.
Released as an augmented reality comic book, the installment is paired with an animated short film featuring the voices of feminist leaders from the U.S. and India, including icon Vidya Balan, Rosanna Arquette, Mrunal Thakur, and Sairah Kabir.
Named a ‘gender equality champion’ by UN Women, the series was created by U.S.-based media house Rattapallax founder, documentary filmmaker, and technologist Ram Devineni. ‘Priya’s Mask’ is produced by Tanvi Gandhi, Indrani Ray, and Monika Samtani, written by Shubhra Prakash, with illustrations and animation by Syd Fini, Hamid Bahrami and Neda Kazemifar. The project was funded through a grant from the North India Office (NIO) of U.S. Embassy New Delhi, in coordination with the Regional English Language Office (RELO), as part of U.S.-India cooperation to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an unprecedented and historic collaboration, the installment will present a debut alliance between two hugely successful female comic book superheroes from neighboring countries, with Priya collaborating with Pakistan’s female superhero, Burka Avenger in their fight against the deadly virus. “The virus does not understand or respect borders,” adds writer Shubhra Prakash, “so this was a natural synergy between both cultural heroes.”
Voiced by Mrunal Thakur, Priya will be remodelled for the very first time, shedding away from her former salwar-kameez clad avatar and embracing a feisty teenage demeanour seen in young women around the world. Preserving the time-honoured tradition, she will be escorted by the flying tiger, Sahas voiced by Vidya Balan. Set against the rustic backdrop of Jodhpur, the narrative weaves around the escapades of an 8-year-old Meena voiced by Sairah Kabir and her working mother who nurses COVID-19 infected patients and their cumulative sacrifices.
The India-born U.S.-based Ram Devineni, whose childhood memories largely consist of reading Amar Chitra Katha comic books, says, “It was important to understand the emotional toll the pandemic and isolation has on young people, and provide a message of hope in the comic and film.” Devineni adds that false information around the virus is creating an atmosphere of fear and speculation among citizens, making it harder to focus on the facts to fight the pandemic.
Mrunal Thakur states, “As an avid comic book lover, I resonated strongly with Priya’s superhero character and realised she is someone I would like to bring to life through the creative medium. I have always aspired to be that superwoman who spreads awareness around social issues and it couldn’t be more exciting than to be a part of an animation character who is the voice of reason. Characters like Priya and Sahas are putting forth the message of how we need the world to become a more inclusive place to live in. I want to tell children of frontline workers that even though their parents aren't wearing capes, they are heroes in their own ways. They too are saving lives and taking care of the nation. This is the first time I am lending my voice to a character especially to a superhero. Infact my entire contribution was recorded over zoom call whilst I was shooting for Jersey in Dehradun. I really wish Priya grows from strength to strength here on. She has the potential of being more than a mere 92 second video and her voice needs to reach every corner of the globe. Love Sonia helped me in my evolutionary journey as a human and as an actor as it allowed me to empathise more strongly with the miseries of the feminine community. I realised I imbibed the power to positively impact community thinking with my work and that will be a constant endeavour for me.”
Vidya Balan states, “Clearly I have a thing for tigers! Jokes aside though what Priya stands for resonated with me at so many levels and it’s the essence of Sahas that connected with me - her strength, her empathy, her confidence. The animation apart from being a nod to caregivers globally which in itself is wonderful and timely and necessary, carries a strong message of solidarity - so it was an easy yes for me and I'm happy to be part of this wonderful film.”
Sairah Kabir states, “I jumped at this opportunity as I found great merit in being part of it. A lot of kids my age will be able to relate to this story since their parents are working round the clock and juggling between so many responsibilities. In times like these, roles get reversed and children become pillars of strength for their parents by encouraging them to continue doing the praiseworthy work. On a sidenote, it was an enjoyable experience voicing a cartoon as I’ve never done that and it’s one thing ticked off my bucket list.”
The U.S. Embassy’s North India Office said, “This exciting book is both the newest chapter in the Priya series and the latest example of the United States and India working together to confront global health challenges, drawing on the deep talents of both of our peoples.”
The pathbreaking comic book series is available as a free download, and has been acknowledged by over 26 million people worldwide through multiple platforms, books, and exhibitions with over 500,000 downloads and 30,000 printed copies distributed.
Priya was introduced to audiences in 2014, two years after the terrible gang-rape on a bus in New Delhi. The augmented reality comic book has over the years brought to attention issues like rape, acid-attacks, and sex-trafficking. The first volume launched in 2014, ‘Priya's Shakti’ shattered social stigmas surrounding rape survivors and was funded by the Tribeca Film Institute, Ms. Foundation, and the Ford Foundation. The success of the maiden edition led to the release of the second volume ‘Priya's Mirror’ which premiered at New York Film Festival in 2016, inspired by the story of Laxmi Agarwal it centered around acid attack survivors and was funded by the World Bank. The ensuing third volume ‘Priya and The Lost Girls’ which premiered in 2019 shed light on the issue of sex trafficking in Southeast Asia.
Basking in the exceptional legacy of being the one of the very few comic books specifically constructed to generate awareness on social perils amongst the youth community, the series has unswervingly offered an empathetic narrative of illuminating attitudes towards gender-based violence, creating empathy and identification with survivors so they can pursue justice without shame leading to emancipation from disabling restrictions imposed by an unempathetic society.

After stand-up comic Bharti as Singh and her husband were arrested for drugs possession, one of India’s oldest and most respected stand-up artistes Raju Shrivastava condemned the culture of substance abuse.
“I am shocked at the way artistes today cross the laxman rekha. You can’t cross the line of decency. Of course I’m aware times have changed. Nonetheless stand-up comedians should not forget where they come from. We are Indians, so please don’t imitate American stand-up comedians.”
Raju finds it hard to believe that Bharti has confessed to consuming banned substance. “She is such a simple sweet goodhearted girl, so focused on her work, why does she need drugs to be effective? As a stand-up comedian for 40 years I have never touched any drugs or alcohol. Addiction to these can destroy the best of careers. Look at Rajesh Khanna, the biggest superstar ever. His career was destroyed in 7-8 years because of alcohol. Then look at the next superstar Amitabh Bachchan, still going great guns at 78. He doesn’t touch a drop of alcohol. The great comic actor Keshto Mukherjee played a drunkard in all his films. He never touched alcohol.”
Raju Shrivastava feels an entertainer needs no stimulant to perform and entertain. “Rafi Saab, Lataji ….did they ever touch any kind of stimulant to reach the summits that they did? We all need to learn from these greats. Bharti should know young girls look up to her as a role-model. What kind of an example as she setting by admitting that she smokes ganja? Let’s hope her career doesn’t go up in smoke. Yeh toh wahi baat ho gayi…Lalli ho gayi talli.”
Shekhar Suman has some wise words of rebuke for Bharti Singh, now in custody for alleged drug consumption. Says Shekhar, “Your talent should be your drug. Just be addicted to hard work and excellence. Sometimes in life it’s difficult to handle fame and money, especially if you are an upstart.”
Shekhar says the use of stimulants for a stand-up comedian is an alien concept for him. “It was always my inherent abilities and nothing else. My advice to those who look for external stimulants to perform on stage is: when you do stand-up, stand up on your two feet without any crutches.”
Shekhar however doesn’t feel Bharti’s involvement in a drug scandal would affect the image of comedy providers in India. “Laughter by itself is the biggest antidote and the most effective medicine it doesn't get affected by sporadic incidents such as this. Laughter is a pond that doesn't get affected by one bad fish.”

One of the most awaited films of 2021, Brahmastra, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, has been in the making for a long time. If the pandemic had not happened, this flick would have released a few weeks from now, on December 4. However, it has now been postponed to 2021. Hence, viewers will get to see it almost 4-5 years after its official announcement.
Brahmastra also happens to be the last film in the line-up of Fox Star Studios. It has released all its other pending films like Dil Bechara, Lootcase, Sadak 2 and Laxmii on Disney+ Hotstar. Laxmii, released on November 9, starred superstar Akshay Kumar and a lot of hopes were pinned on the horror comedy. Sadly, the film got terrible reviews and also it didn’t attain the desired number of eyeballs. A source says, “Disney+ Hotstar has now asked Fox Star Studios if they can hand over Brahmastra for their streaming platform. What it means is, Disney+ Hotstar wants Brahmastra to bypass theatrical release and arrive on its platform directly. They feel Brahmastra is a keenly awaited biggie and if it gets premiered on their platform, it’ll fetch them record streams.”
The source continues, “Producer Karan Johar, however, has not shown interest. He believes that the VFX heavy, grand film would be best enjoyed in cinemas.”
Brahmastra was launched as a trilogy and with Fox Star Studios shutting shop, the question arises - what is the fate of the second and third part of the franchise? A source says, “As of now, there are no talks on the Brahmastra sequels. All the efforts of Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios are on completing the first part. The shoot of the film is to get over this month after which the team will fully concentrate on the post-production.” The source continues, “Though Fox Star Studios is exiting the business, the upcoming parts might still be made. Karan Johar is looking forward to the response to the first part. If it emerges a success, he’ll go ahead with the trilogy as planned but maybe with some other studio.”
Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt along with Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna in supporting roles. Mouni Roy reportedly plays the antagonist. It is directed by Ayan Mukerji, who has proved his brilliance with Wake Up Sid (2009) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) in the past.
The leading lady opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in OM - The Battle Within has been found. Producers Zee Studios, Ahmed Khan, and Shaira Khan have roped in the beautiful young sensation Sanjana Sanghi as Kavya in the film. This marks the first association of Aditya and Sanjana as a lead pair.
Talking about the young sensation, producer Ahmed Khan says, "In her debut film, Sanjana handled her role with great maturity and in OM, the character what she plays is of a young girl who handles great responsibilities and she is perfectly suited for it."
The film will be shot in 3 cities in India and one international location. The makers are hoping to complete the shooting of the film by March.
Talking about her first big action venture, Sanjana says, "Getting to delve into the action genre so early on, is something I view as an absolute honour and have immense gratitude for to my producers, Ahmed Khan, Zee Studios and my director Kapil for the potential they have seen in me being able to pull off such a unique part in our film. After exploring many scripts and possibilities for a while, OM felt just right since it was the spectrum jump I was looking for in terms of throwing myself into an entirely unchartered territory of a big commercial actioner being executed in a never-seen-before way that is going to present me with new & exciting challenges."
She further adds that her character Kavya will be an inspiration to the young girls of India. "My character Kavya is a girl I know each of us young girls in India aspires to be. She is confident, extremely hard working and sharp, empathetic, brave, and a crucial tenet of our film. She’s nothing like we’ve ever seen before on celluloid. I’m so excited to bring her to life, and I know I’m going to learn so much from her I’m doing tons of action in the film, and various kinds of training and prep for the same is ongoing. It’s testing and pushing me both physically and mentally, but is so thrilling! Getting to work with Adi is the best part of it all, he’s working so hard for the film and is going to shine", says Sanjana.

Today, on his birthday, Kartik Aaryan shared the first look of his film and announced the title Dhamaka. “It’s a subject that Kartik loved in the first narration and instantly allotted his dates to Madhvani. It’s a different space for Kartik, who so far is synonymous with rom-coms, and he is all charged up to embark on this new journey. The film is a nail-biting thriller, inspired by a Korean classic, however, the details have been kept under wraps,” a source told Bollywood Hungama, adding further that the film will go on the floors in December for a quick marathon schedule of 45 to 50 days, thereby calling it a wrap. “In-fact, it will be ready before his already on floors films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2. It will most probably release during summer 2021,” the source further told.
Based completely in Mumbai, the film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Ram Madhvani Films (with Co-Producer Amita Madhvani). Ronnie shares, “I am thrilled to collaborate with Ram and Kartik and nothing better than this particular subject for us to come together for the first time. When Ram came to me with the script, I knew that I couldn’t miss out on this one, and we got a similar reaction when we narrated the script to Kartik as well."
Kartik Aaryan is excited to step into the thriller zone and team up with Ram Madhvani to play a journalist who covers the live broadcast of a terror attack in Mumbai. “This for me is a miracle script and had me on the edge of my seat all through the narration. I knew this is the script that would give me the opportunity to explore a different side of me as an actor. I can’t wait to transport myself to Ram sir’s world and see his vision translate on the big screen. This is also the first time I am collaborating with Ronnie and RSVP, and I am looking forward to this journey ” says Kartik Aaryan.
After Neerja and his successful digital show, Aarya, Ram was on the lookout for a story that lives up to the expectations of the audience. “As a director, I am inclined towards human stories. Though this one is a thriller on the outset, there lies a lot of emotion and drama in the screenplay that leads to the adrenaline rush. This film demanded a young actor, with a certain amount of rawness in the space. Kartik, being one of the most talented actors in Bollywood, fits the bill.”
He concludes by admitting that shooting in the midst of Covid will be challenging. “But I have a terrific backing from my producer, Ronnie Screwvala, and our production teams at RSVP and RMF, are all well versed with the covid protocols. As a director/ Producer I will be abiding by the rules as laid down by the government and am eager to get back to filming .”
The Terror Live revolved around popular news journalist Yoon Young-Hwa but due to an unsavory incident works now as a radio show host. One day, a listener calls in to the radio program and states that "I will blow up the Mapodaegyo Bridge." At first, the call is taken as a joke, but soon they realize it is real. The incident is then broadcast live on TV for the next 90 minutes. Yoon Young-Hwa believes this incident is his chance to get back to become a news journalist again.
Kya Kool Hai Hum actress Mandana Karimi has alleged harassment on the sets of her forthcoming film, Koka Kola. The actress said that the producer of her film, Mahendra Dhariwal, forcefully came inside her vanity van and began shouting at her when she refused to do an extra hour of the shoot on November 13th.
Speaking to a daily, the actress said that she has been shooting for over a year despite knowing that the team was unprofessional and that the producer was an old-school man who turned the set into an egoistic male-dominated place. The actress said that she had a scheduled meeting on the same day and it was the last day of her shoot and she wanted to wrap up and get going. The producer told her to give in an extra hour of the shoot to which she said she couldn't due to a prior commitment. After that, he allegedly came into her vanity van and began screaming at her and said he is the producer and how can she not listen to him. She said that this is the strangest job she had in her 9 years in India as the film did not have a director or assistant on the set but a choregrapher, stylist, and producer were calling the shots. This incident has shaken her up.
However, producer Mahender Dhariwal has spoken up and alleged that Mandana Karimi was highly unprofessional and that she demanded more money to shoot for extra days. He said that they had signed her for Rs. 7 lakh but once the pandemic hit, the shooting was halted. He alleged that she demanded more money for the continuity of the shoot and in Delhi when she had to stay back, she demanded Rs. 2 lakh. When they began shooting again and reached out to her for new dates, she said she was busy. She demanded Rs. 2 lakh, which he says he paid to her. He said the shift on November 13 was 9 am to 9 pm but she said she wanted to leave at 7 pm. At 8 pm, she got a call and she went into her vanity van. He said he ran to speak to her, she began recording him screaming and he requested her for additional 15 minutes of the song shoot but he lost his cool when she started acting up. He alleged that she was signed for Rs. 7 lakhs but in over a year and a half she has taken Rs. 17 lakhs including cash transactions. He alleged she behaved unprofessionally.

Lately, Krushna Abhishek has expressed his hurt and displeasure at his star-uncle Govinda’s attitude. Now, hitting back through a press release Govinda says, “I read the news on the front page of a leading daily about my nephew Krushna Abhishek not performing on a popular television show as I was invited as a guest there. He chose to opt-out as he had some reservations. Later, he went ahead and stated in the media about his belief in our relationship. This statement had defamatory comments and was issued with only a little thought. It had a snowball effect as it was voyeuristic in nature.” Voyeuristic? In what way. One can’t say.
Govinda’s statement further reads, “It was erroneously alleged by Krushna that I did not go to see his twins. I along with my family went to see his twins in the hospital and met the doctor (Doctor Awasthi) and the nurse taking care of them. However, the nurse told me that the mother of the kids - Kashmera Shah never wanted any of the family members to come and see the surrogate babies. Upon further insistence, we were made to see the babies from a long distance. We returned with a heavy heart, however, I strongly feel that Krushna does not know of this incident. One can feel free to connect with the doctor and the nurse on the same and get to know the truth. Krushna also came to our home with the kids and Aarti Singh, which he has forgotten to mention in the statement.”
Govinda further adds that he had been made into a scapegoat. “Be it Krushna or Kashmera - I have been a scapegoat(target?) of their defamatory comments and statements against me frequently - most of them in the media and some in the shows and performances that they do. I do not understand why is this slander being done repetitively(sic.) and what is it that they are gaining from the same. My relationship with Krushna was very strong since the time he was a small child. My adulation(adoration?) for him was unparalleled and my family and people from the industry are a witness to the same. I strongly believe that washing dirty linen in public is an indication of insecurity and allows outsiders to take advantage of a family's misunderstandings.”
Govinda also states that he would hereby make no comment on the family feud. “Through this statement, I would like to mention that I shall maintain a graceful distance now onwards. And since I am so bad as mentioned in the media reports - I urge those who dislike me to do the same. Every family has misunderstandings and problems - but to discuss them in the media may cause
irreparable damage and, I dislike the same - indeed I am very sad to clarify this through the media. I am perhaps the most misunderstood person, but if it is like that - then so be it. My mother always taught me 'Neki Kar Aur Dariya Mein Daal Govinda'.”
We wish the Mama-Bhanja would sit down and sort out their differences.
For the past few months, the Enforcement Directorate(ED) has been probing money laundering case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. They have been looking into every possible angle. Reportedly, the ED found a suspicious payment of Rs. 17 crores missing made to Sushant by producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. Sushant has worked with Dinesh in the film Raabta.
Dinesh Vijan was interrogated by the ED in October and was asked to submit all necessary documents related to the payments made to Sushant for the film Raabta. On Sunday, as reported by Times Now, the spokesperson of Maddock Films issued an official statement clarifying the matter.
"The information you have received and what you have published is incorrect. Kindly note that Maddock Films has not made any payment to Sushant in Hungary. Maddock has also not received Rs. 17 crores whether as actor fee, or any rebate from Hungary as wrongly claimed in your article. We have made the full and final payment to Sushant for the film Raabta as per the agreement signed by him with us, and this payment was received by him in India," the statement read.
"We have submitted relevant documents for the proof of such payment to the department. It should be noted that in fact all funding and financial transactions for the shooting in Hungary were handled by T-Series. You may confirm from T-Series. Maddock Films is a responsible filmmaker and we dutifully follow the rules and law of our country," it further read.
"We are not sure if we can speak about the matter at this moment, but to avoid any controversy, we want to clarify we are fully cooperating with the agency and have furnished all details required and it is our sincere request to all to avoid spreading incorrect information," they wrote.
The ED started investigating Sushant's case after the late actor's father alleged that a sum of Rs. 15 crores had been siphoned from his son's account by Rhea Chakraborty and her family members. However, in 2016 during the making of Raabta, Rhea was not dating Sushant. The two only met in 2018.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Vijan is currently in Dubai. He has reportedly been summoned by the ED but has submitted a medical certificate of having tested positive for COVID-19. Vijan had tested positive when he was on his way back to India and had undergone mandatory tests before flying.

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Brothers and sisters! Today I am talking to you standing at a crucial juncture of my life. I have been living the Showbiz (Film Industry) life for years, and during this time I have been blessed with all kinds of fame, honour and wealth from my fans for which I am grateful to them. But for a few days now, I have been possessed of the realization that: Is the real purpose of man's coming into this world only to chase wealth and fame?,” she had written in her note in October after she announced that she is quitting the industry.
“Isn't it a part of his/her duty to spend his/her life in the service of those who are needy and helpless? Shouldn't a person think that he/she could die at any moment? And what will happen to him after he/she is no more? I have been searching for answers to these two questions for a long period of time, especially the second question as to what will happen to me after my death?,” she added contemplating life and death.
“When I searched for the answer to this question in my religion, I realized that this life in the world is actually for the betterment of life-after-death. And it will be better if the slave lives according to the command of his Creator, and does not make wealth and fame his only goal; rather, he/she should avoid sinful life and serve humanity, and follow the path shown by his/her Creator. Therefore, I declare today that from today onwards, I have resolved to say goodbye to my Showbiz lifestyle forever and serve humanity and follow the order of my Creator. All brothers and sisters are requested to pray for me to Allah to accept my repentance and grant me the true ability to live in accordance with my determination of spending my life following the commandments of my Creator and in the service of humanity and grant me perseverance in it. regards to any Showbiz work henceforth,” the note further read.
“Finally, all brothers and sisters are requested to not consult me with regard to any showbiz work henceforth,” Khan concluded.
